Jesus falls the second time. This is the second time you have fallen on the road. The cross is heavier, but you continue to get up. Help me when things seem difficult even when it’s hard help me to keep getting up

Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem. Jesus, as you carry your cross, you see a group of women on the road. As you pass, you see their sadness you spend a moment with them to offer them encouragement. In your struggle, you still saw others suffering and stopped to help them.

Jesus falls for the third time. Jesus, your journey has been long, you fall again. You know your end is near and you keep getting up to face it. Sometimes we feel like we should conquer our weakness by now, discouraged by facing the same problem again and again. Help us go on.

Jesus is stripped of his garments. The soldiers, see your cloak of value, they throw dice for it. Your wounds are ripped back open, people tease you to ask for a miracle. Hope us not mark and tease people when they are down. Help us build each other up.

Jesus is nailed to the cross. You are stretched out on the cross you carried. You feel abandoned by those you have loved. Help us look at the people around us. Help us make amends if we have harmed them.

Jesus dies on the cross. As He hung on the cross, He forgave the soldiers that crucified Him and prayed for His mother and friends. Jesus wanted all of us to be able to live forever with God, so He gave all he had for us.

Jesus is taken down from the cross. How brutally you were put to death, how gently you were taken from the cross. Your suffering and pain are ended and you were put in your mother‘s lap. Help us look for the good in those around me. Help us live each day like it’s our last.

Jesus is laid in the tomb Jesus, your body is prepared for burial. Joseph of Arimathea gave you his own tomb. He risked his own life to accept your body for burial. Help us be like Joseph and loving You so much. Help us not be selfish and give what we can.

Speak, Mary, declaring What you saw, wayfaring. “The tomb of Christ, who is living, The glory of Jesus’ resurrection; bright angels attesting, The shroud and napkin resting. Yes, Christ my hope is arisen. Christ is risen, Alleluia!
