Perhaps, Gillum's public sharing of his bisexuality, alongside his wife, will open up room for more Black men to do the same -- and for Black women to deal with the Heterosexism we continue to invest in too.

Terrified but determined, I am thrilled to announce the relaunch of Anna Julia Cooper Center as an independent entity. Leading AJC was the most important work I’ve ever done. One step at a time— we are returning.

"The solution to anti-Asian violence is not more policing. We interrupt violence as we have always done—we bear witness to the times and like Yuri we move with a heartbeat of struggle." Read more on GenForward Survey and Black Youth Project #BYP: bit.ly/3vMPvUR

I have hesitated posting about the loss of the brilliant, amazing, courageous, and powerful #UrvashiVaid because the truth is I can’t imagine the world without Urvashi. She was a force moving us all toward justice and freedom. We all owe Urv gratitude and love.

Together with Movement 4 Black Lives we sampled Black individuals from across 50 states and D.C. and found that 2/3 of Black people express support for reallocating part of police budgets towards investments such as healthcare, education, and housing.

GenForward and @mvmt4bl recently released a survey that found 92% of Black people in the US would rather call a mental-health crisis center instead of the police. This highlights the desire for alternatives to law enforcement, especially in Black communities.
