How do #ExtremeWeatherEvents impact on #MentalHealth & #WellBeing? Xique presented some interesting review findings at #EGU22 - Depression, PTSD and Anxiety, Substance Use all increase (in particular for vulnerable sub-groups) but a lack of control impedes the literature.

Our latest groundwater quality article is now available in STOTEN. We analysed the EPA groundwater monitoring dataset. E. coli was detected in 66.7% (88/132) of supplies (used for human consumption) at least once over the 10 year monitoring period! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Hot off the press! The 3rd paper from Luisa Andrade's PhD has now been published in Environmental Pollution. The paper looks at levels of AMR in bacteria isolated from private wells. Antimicrobial resistance present in 16.7% of E. coli isolates! Link:bit.ly/3Fx0okA

First paper of 2023 & it's a good one! This is the first study looking at VTEC genes in private wells (present in 10/52). We calculated a 'generic' E. coli to VTEC ratio of 40%. Findings help us understand why the RoI has the highest incidence of VTEC infection in the EU.
