I’m still astonished at the fact that, despite the wealth of evidence showing the long-term health risks from even ‘mild’ cases of Covid, as a country we have just shrugged, accepted mass infection, and acted as if the still-cautious among us are the *odd* ones. It’s madness.

Long before COVID appeared, everyone should have been staying home when they were sick, and wearing a mask when they really needed to go out anyway. It’s incredible that we are still struggling to do this in the midst of a pandemic that has killed millions.

Mask mandates work. Even if there isn't enforcement or 100% compliance. Mandates increase mask wearing, esp for the many who aren't opposed to masks, but don't know when to wear one. Every person masking reduces the amount of virus in the air, making the space safer for all.

Masks are easy, they take minimal effort to use, and the benefits of wearing one are many. You know what’s not easy? Chronic Illness, disability, and death. Mask Up!! #Masks #BringBackMasks #COVID19 #CovidIsNotOver #CovidSafetyNow #COVIDisAirborne #Saturday

A reminder: * COVID is airborne. * Herd immunity did not happen. * Omicron was not mild. * Kids do get sick. * Transmission does occur in schools. * Each variant is not milder. * No wave has been an exit wave. Minimizers have been wrong about every single one of those things..🩠

We need more of thisđŸ‘‡đŸŒđŸ‘‡đŸŒ. If we’re going to expect people to manage their own risk, then we should also create spaces or times where the risk levels are varied.

A myth that keeps being perpetuated is that masks are only individual responsibility and not collective/systemic. Wrong. Mask mandates and providing free N95 masks are systemic solutions that would mitigate harm and make society more accessible to more people.
