1,200 days since Taliban banned teenage girls from secondary schools. 740 days since women were banned from universities. 26 days since women were banned from medical institutes. Today, Afghanistan is the only country in the world where female education is prohibited.

Afghan women are as deserving of respect, autonomy and dignity as every other woman in the world. The lack of meaningful reprisals for the flagrant human rights abuses visited upon Afghan women by the Taliban shames the international community.

On February 26 the England cricket team will play Afghanistan. WHY? Are England men happy to validate a regime which denies women all human rights from education to simply walking in a park? Now the Taliban are cracking down even on women going online. Boycott the ICC.
