Incredibly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such a great team! We found that much of the effect of AS is in gene expression through NMD (rather than transcriptome diversification). Many unexplained eQTLs are mediated through AS and NMD! Yang's thread for details:

I am convinced that unproductive splicing (and other molecular events disrupting protein-coding isoforms) has important implications in complex and rare diseases. The challenge is to develop new approaches to systematically study these mechanisms and their effects.
