Excited to share the preclinical work underlying our #mRNA #monkeypox vaccine entering clinical trials. We hope to make an impact on this very scary disease and other emerging pox viruses via potential pan-pox protection elicited by our vaccine. BioNTech SE #mpox

Extremely happy to present our work, a tour de force of 10+ years, where we show the structural analysis and conformational dynamics of a holo-adhesion GPCR and reveal interplay between extracellular and transmembrane domains. A thread: 1/8 tinyurl.com/mvwf7kan #gpcr #drgpcr

In our article published today nature , we report complete all-atom structural models of a fully packaged bacteriophage particle. Congratulations to Kush Coshic on his first publication! Many thanks to Chris Maffeo and David Winogradoff for pushing this 6-year project forward.

Amazing commentary on recent intriguing paper from Digby Warner lab. Sarah Fortune on the relevance or not of viable Mtb found in aerosols of otherwise healthy people. But most of all, thank you for introducing me to the word "bummock" Sarah!

I got my camera, set up the tripod, dialed the lens to 70mm & framed it up on a static portion of the sky to capture the 2024 Solar Eclipse periodically for over two hours.. I am so, so proud of the compilation that resulted!🥲🌙☀️ ✍️🖼️tmahlmann.com/product/2024-s…

These are both mine, from the 2017 Eclipse and from Monday. 2017 inspired and kicked off my journey into astrophotography, so it's interesting to see how much I've developed my style since then. I wonder who out there started their own journey on Monday?

I am glad to share our most recent work Nature Communications: Genetically encoded transcriptional plasticity underlies stress adaptation in Mycobacterium tuberculosis (nature.com/articles/s4146…)

Another paper from the lab. The now Dr. Ng, Wei Ng , describes how the nucleoid associated protein, Lsr2, helps promote chromosomal mutagenesis in mycobacteria. journals.asm.org/doi/full/10.11…

Truly excited to see our latest article, in which we were surprised how phages that target conjugative plasmids are both so common and diverse, published! A real tour de force from Natalia Quinones-Olvera and Siân Owen nature.com/articles/s4146…

Woohoo, our paper on the discovery of 65 new phages dependent on conjugative plasmids is published in it's final form today in Nature Communications ! Here follows a thread (1/ ) link.springer.com/article/10.103…

Was idly leafing through a recent issue of Cell when: The inaugural new "Short Article" format paper features my old classmate Charlie Charlie Dulberger who helped make a trivalent mRNA vaccine against MPOX!! Congrats to you and the team at BioNTech!

Excited to share my dissertation work, out today in Nature Communications! Big question being asked: in developing targeted degraders for tuberculosis infection, how do we find suitable targets for this novel antibiotic modality? 🔗:nature.com/articles/s4146…

Meet MagLOV: an engineered protein that responds STRONGLY to magnetic fields. This is a fluorescence timelapse of MagLOV in E. coli. We're waving a (small) magnet under the plate. Can you tell where the magnet is? Want some? It's on Addgene now! addgene.org/219957/

Happy this work is finally out in the world officially. Great memories from my postdoc on the microscope imaging mycobacteria responding to antibiotics. Big shoutout to Mike Wuo for leading this work and @TeddyWarner4 and Junhao for appeasing reviewers and of course the PIs!
