A sophisticated technique (high-resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy) allows Pepto-Bismol -Bismol structure to be determined!

Please join our 3rd part of the ASI on "Metals in Biology and Medicine" next Tuesday (June 21, 2022)! Our speakers include Edward Solomon (Stanford Chemistry), Peter Caravan (Harvard University), Feng Shao (National Institute of Biological Sciences), Walter Berger (Medical University Vienna).

Feel honored to be invited to deliver a frontier lecture on our work from Metallomics to drug development (e.g. COVID-19) at the Institute of Chemistry, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS). You are welcome to join on July 15 at 9 am (Beijing time)

Our feature article entitled "Metal-based strategies for the fight against COVID-19", published in Chemical Communications (58, 7466). Hope 'Metals-in-Medicine' can play a role to end the pandemic. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Happy to see our latest work in Journal of Biological Inorganic Chemistry on the use of gold(I) drugs as a colistin adjuvant in the fight against infections by Antisuperbugs using MCR‑1 producing bacteria as an example!

At last, protein targets of Cr(III) in cells were uncovered by an integrative metallo-proteomics approach (Nature Communications )! Mitochondrial ATP synthase as a direct target of Cr(III) to ameliorate hyperglycaemia stress. Please read details at nature.com/articles/s4146…

Dalton Horizon Prize (2023): "Bismuth cure for COVID-19". We are extremely delighted to be recognised by RSC DaltonTransactions. It is a reward of persistence on our original and cutting-edge research with potential to improve human health. SBIC HKU Chemistry Metallomics

Rapid emergence of @AMR pathogens highlights the urgent need to develop novel The Global Antibiotics Resistance Foundation. We proposed a dual Trojan Horse strategy, i.e. metallo-sideromycin (e.g. Bi(III)) for coping with AMR. It works beautifully. Please read the Nature Communications paper (nature.com/articles/s4146…)

You are sincerely invited to attend the symposium on Nov. 3-5, 2023 at The University of Hong Kong HKU_Science

If you missed The University of Hong Kong for your first degree, you can not afford to miss the Master degree (and Ph.D). Welcome to join HKU Chemistry!

Feel honored to receive this Innovator Award, and thank all members in the group and collaborators in medical school HKU Medicine !

Happy to see our collaborative work with Xinming Yang on "Clinically used drug arsenic trioxide (As2O3) targets XIAP & overcomes apoptosis resistance in an organoid-based preclinical cancer model". The paper is featured in the cover of Chemical Science (2024, 15, 8311).

Our new arsenal against AntiMicrobial Resistance published in Nature Microbiology: Bismuth-based drugs/compd effectively sensitize Pseudomonas aeruginosa to multiple antibiotics by disrupting iron Ourhostasis. Bismuth chemistry is amusing! @OscarKuipers1 Rubén Cebrián HKU_Science

Pleased to share our Perspective in J. Am. Chem. Soc. entitled "Metal-based approaches for the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR)": pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…

What a fantastic Cover Art (for the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in J. Am. Chem. Soc. , #MyACSCover! Thanks Mr. Li Zhang and Dr. Chenyuan Wang for designing the cover image! Please download the paper (open access) for details at pubs.acs.org/toc/jacsat/147…
