Last week our Higher classes were using catalysts to lower the activation energy and speed up chemical reactions and also got to see the activated complex for a short time! 🧪👩🏻‍🔬👨🏻‍🔬🥼❤️💚❤️ 👀

Dr Miller is in her element today for the exam after party with the AH Chemistry class. But do you know which element she is? 🧨 🎆 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The N5 Chemists did not want their leftover cocktail sticks from yesterday’s ionic lattices to go to waste so today each team burned them. The challenge was to see who could build the best mini bonfire and heat up 50 ml of water to boiling the fastest 🔥 They were all so good!

Today our Angus Academy AH Chemistry class were studying the oxidation states of manganese. We used a lollipop as the reducing agent 🧪🍭 Lovely colour changes! Thanks to Science in School for the method 🥰

We received our BrightRed Publishing Higher Chemistry revision cards today. We found it lovely that they are dedicated to Mr Sleigh who worked hard with Bright Red to develop these cards and who we dearly miss ❤️ we hope they help pupils succeed in this year’s exams!
