[#preprint] Delineating bacterial genera based on gene content analysis: A case study of the Mycoplasmatales-Entomoplasmatales clade within the class #Mollicutes w/ Alain Blanchard Gail Gasparich & others; a closer look at #Mycoplasma #taxonomy doi.org/10.1101/2024.0…

Together, our lab members contributed 531 km to the 2024 IPMB Academia Sinica (中研院植微所) Virtual Race event (Aug 9-18) for the Team Microbes! It's a fun challenge. I ran for 43.76 km, which is more than my monthly average over the past year.

Really appreciate the hospitality of Makoto MIYATA(宮田真人) Osaka Metropolitan University, Shen-Chian Pei and I will be visiting the "bacterial motility paradise" here for the next 3 weeks to talk about #spiroplasma #mycoplasma research!

Our lab member Shen-Chian Pei presented his work on #phytoplasama #genome & #effector at the Japanese Society for Bacteriology Young Researcher Meeting at Osaka Metropolitan University

It was fun attending the Japanese Society for Bacteriology Young Researcher Meeting & chat with the trainees here. Other than the huge name tag, the towel with the very cute conference logo is a nice souvenir. Many thanks to the host Makoto MIYATA(宮田真人) Osaka Metropolitan University!

Delighted to visit the Laboratory of Plant Pathology at the University of Tokyo UTokyo | 東京大学, a renowned team for #phytoplasma research. Very happy to see Profs. Shigetou Namba & Kensaku Maejima again and to meet other team members.

Had a great time visiting Takema Fukatsu AIST to discuss #symbiosis & #evolution Very grateful to Osaka Metropolitan University for offering a visiting professorship so I can meet with these outstanding Japanese scientists, and Makoto MIYATA(宮田真人) & Shigeyuki Kakizawa for coordinate my travel.

Before rushing to catch our train, Shen-Chian Pei & I tried to mimic Ryuichi KOGA at the Tsukuba station. Not as good as Tomohito Noda though... Thanks Takema Fukatsu again for the hospitality, it's really a fun visit at AIST to talk about #symbiosis

Prof. Satoshi Nanami, Director of the Osaka Metropolitan University Botanical Gardens, gave us a guided tour. This site has 11 forest types with 5,000 species, including 100 endangered species. What a beautiful treasure for conservation, education, & research! Makoto MIYATA(宮田真人) Shen-Chian Pei

Former lab members joining our weekly sports hours when they come back to Taiwan for vacations is becoming a delightful trend. So nice to see Yu-Chen Lin Yu-Chen Lin again!
