Today, UN Women & EU International Partnerships 🇪🇺 are co-hosting the #WYDE Steering Committee, gathering about 60 committed representatives of the #WYDECommunity orgs & #YouthAdvisors for a full day of sharing, learning & synergizing within the Women & Youth Democratic Engagement Initiative.

Sanctioning the ICC threatens the Court’s independence and undermines the international criminal justice system as a whole.

The ICC guarantees accountability for international crimes and gives a voice to victims worldwide. It must be able to freely pursue the fight against global impunity. Europe will always stand for justice and the respect of international law.

The Int'l Criminal Court is essential in upholding justice & combating impunity. The EU stands unwaveringly behind the ICC. We must boldly call out violations of international law, demand accountability & reinforce our humanitarian diplomacy. I reiterated this message to Karim A. A. Khan KC.

At #CSW69, Chiara Adamo highlighted Spotlight Initiative as a groundbreaking EU-UN coalition to end violence against women. Together with the 🇺🇳UN & partner countries, the 🇪🇺EU prevented 21 million women & girls from experiencing gender-based violence via Spotlight Initiative. At #CSW69, I invited others to join the Group of Friends to end violence against women & girls & drive the noble work to end GBV.
