I am grateful to have been invited as a keynote and co-facilitating session speaker for the "Reconciliation and the United Nations Declaration Act: Indigenous IP" conference hosted by the Maritime Aboriginal Peoples Council with the technical support of ABS Canada from May 27-28.

Over the two days, I learned from members of the Grand Council (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, and Newfoundland and Labrador), community members, and all our resources persons and expert panelists (Australia, Nigeria, South Africa, the Philippines, and various parts of Canada)

We explored #Indigeneity, #reconciliation, #intellectualproperty, and the new World Intellectual Property Organization treaty on Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge as well as the Riyadh Design Law Treaty.

Delegates to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Special Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Traditional Cultural Expressions concluded their last deliberations for the 2024-2025 biennium.
