This has to be the way forward 👇Treatment burden is real and does not create value for individuals or health and care systems “We should be organising health systems around clusters of multiple health conditions, rather than individual diseases”

Lots of ‘poor people just need to change their behaviour’ posturing and politicks on X. The answer is *not* to give them more information- it’s to give them more money.

20+ yrs ago when we woke up to the problem of LTCs we talked about ‘psychologically informed’ services. Some of us worked alongside psychologists and our practice shifted accordingly. But we don’t talk enough about this any more. Why? Charlie Jones Dr Chloe Stewart

Are your primary and community care MDTs involving people with LTCs in decisions? Surprisingly few do in this country but teams in Holland and a few in the US are structured to do this well. If you have fab examples please share! NAPC Royal College of General Practitioners Dr Adrian Hayter

We often look to doctors, other health professionals, and the NHS to solve problems that cannot be solved by drugs, operations, and even simple advice. To avoid dependency we need to build capabilities outside the NHS, in communities and people. Could not agree more strongly 👏

I think there is a very important point here. The reason GP funding often comes with so many strings attached is because NHSE/DoH don’t trust GPs not to pocket it. And that’s because a small proportion would. We need to rebuild trust by calling out unprofessional practices.

Delighted that My paper on the importance of Public and Patient Involvement in research has just been published! Totally charged the way I have conducted my PHD and critical for all research where the public are end users! Aimee Robson (she/her) Dr Chloe Stewart link.springer.com/article/10.118…

It's important the Government hears that the NHS is about long term conditions, not just about extending life expectancy. A much bigger focus on healthy life expectancy and the biggest causes of years lived with disability. Like MSK conditions and pain.

Have your say -👇 and remember as Einstein once said 'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results’

What if the new 10 year plan includes the human side of change? Behaviour change doesn’t magically happen with information and advice! Understanding the factors that limit and promote behaviour change and using these insights to design effective change interventions will be key
