Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting the Duke University Center for Biomolecular and Tissue Engineering to discuss our latest work using AI to accelerate antibiotic discovery. Thank you Pranam Chatterjee, Emma J Chory, Sophia Vincoff, and more!

How are folks handling NIH’s no foreign subawards policy? Anyone working with consortia (e.g. Human Human Protein Atlas, Sweden), this is a big issue—some orgs are the only source for rare reagents/proteins, sold at cost. Curious what implications this has + how ppl plan to navigate.

I discuss the urgent crisis from the loss of federal support of science in the US and recent clinical gene editing breakthroughs with Walter Isaacson & Christiane Amanpour on Amanpour and Company, airing on PBS tonight at 11 pm ET, and on CNN International earlier today. Pls share! youtube.com/watch?v=8YhJM6…

Happy to share the peer-reviewed and updated version of our work on OrthoRep-driven evolution of aaRSs for genetic code expansion with unnatural amino acids. Congrats to Yuichi FURUHATA, a true master bioengineer, on leading this excellent work! nature.com/articles/s4146…

Amazing talk by Emma J Chory about directed evolution, robotics and automation. Also very interesting links for education #SEED2025
