Having covered the science of the CMB, B-modes and QUIJOTE, this time Chris North, Ian Harrison and @Dr_Whatson discuss the advantages and challenges of observing from space, the threat of satellites, and what the plans are for the upcoming Simons Observatory. podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pytha…
Could black holes explain the expansion of the Universe? We take a deep dive into new research that implies they could, and discuss possible challenges to the result. And since this is all about black holes, who better to speak to than Dr Becky Smethurst podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pytha…
This really was a deep dive, ranging from the Kerr solutions for spacetime around black holes to General Relativity. It would be convenient if this theory were true, but I think it's fair to say (as Dr Becky Smethurst and the authors agree - spoiler alert!) that the jury's still out!
We (Atacama Cosmology Telescope) have a groundbreaking new image revealing the most detailed map of dark matter distributed across a quarter of the entire sky - drawn by CMB lensing and with implications for the growth of cosmic structures bbc.com/news/science-e…

Do you think the cover of a magazine dictates who reads it? Are female readers attracted by male celebrities, or aren't there enough female STEM celebrities out there? My @cardiffPHYSX project student Jem and I tried to find out Andy Williams RAS Diversity bit.ly/4aR3Sfv
First time in the new BBC studios in Cardiff - very swish, and just on the doorstep for Cardiff University @cardiffPHYSX! Good fun chatting cosmology (and bonus astrobiology!) with Victoria Gill 💙💛 for BBC Radio 4 Inside Science.
