The marketing behind BEE (the ideals mentioned) is very different from the effects of the legislation. The legislation’s effect is exactly opposite the spin.

Also financial repression, which is an investment killer and consequently a growth killer. Important to distinguish the sentiment from the legislation. BEE legislation is the biggest obstacle to BEE, as reflected in the ideals (which is not a problem)

why is it so hard to start something small and make it work ? Gatekeepin... youtube.com/shorts/__9qNJ0… via YouTube Azar Jammine spot on.

The BEE legislation is there to enforce ANC hegemony over the economy. If you are not part of the ANC (more specifically, the right faction), you are excluded from the economy. The marketing (spin) around BEE is pure deceit

Socialist leaders - we have a welfare solution for you. But we don’t want it for ourselves. And if you don’t vote for us, you will lose your grant.

Not only an economic disaster but a social disaster along with genocidal characteristics. Support require a huge dollop of intellectual dishonesty and ring-fenced contradictions.

Unemployment and job creation should be SAs biggest priority. It is the lowest priority if judged on what is done as opposed what politicians say.

An eloquent and well laid out explanation. What can be added is that the headline argument for BEE (the spin) is in direct contradiction of the actual legislation. The actual legislation creates economic exclusion with unemployment, poverty and greater inequality as the outcome.

The same story playing out in SA. The leading economy in Africa (by far) now losing ground with increasing unemployment and poverty.

The most sensible action is to reset foreign policy to something like SA first and be genuinely neutral while seeking to repair and reset SA-US relations

Capital Gains Tax is a wealth tax which has the economic effect of converting capital into consumption. Economic growth needs capital investment. Capital gains tax is the equivalent of eating seeds and wondering why there is no harvest

If the allegations are true, then suspension/dismissal is the correct action. However, I missed Action SA’s call for the same for most other ANC ministers, heads of depts, mayors… with far more serious alleged clouds. Or is this just feud politicking?
