Research update: A huge thank you to everyone who has supported with this to complete and spread the word. We’ve achieved 123 responses with 100 of those from the UK. I’ll close the survey next Tuesday to allow any further responses to come through. It’s a good sample size.

I’m always very transparent. Maybe too much so. I’m analysing the information collated via the disability employment research that I am undertaking. One of my current reflections is as follows:

Deep into my data analysis of disability employment. The data, whilst not without limitations, suggests the need for greater flexibility. Interestingly, also emerging is that a focus less on physical presence may allow disabled people to be more present in the workforce.

A personal view: It seems like as public finances are cut, disabled people are again foremost in those targeted. Thoughts with everyone.

I feel like I’m on constant alert. Waking up to more headlines on benefit cuts. The levels of and fear created for many I personally find so deeply irresponsible. Puzzling too, given that disabled people make up a quarter of the electorate.

A personal view re the Disability Green Paper/Announcement: The real test of these proposals is whether: -They can support and not penalise disabled people -They can provide support to disabled people who are able to work to do so -They treat people fairly in practice

What a week. It’s been a tough one and I’m worried on so many levels at the moment for/about disabled people. But..I’m determined to use this worry as fuel for my fire. It’s hard but we have to stick together and keep going.

I can’t help but find it particularly sinister that Assisted Dying is being debated at a time of significant welfare cuts. It feels like a particularly precarious time to be a disabled person.

It seems a particularly cruel irony that defence spending is to be boosted on a day when yet more cuts for disabled people are announced. I’m wondering where our defences are?

I’m really hoping that Chansiri now just goes. His name is synonymous with calamity and it is clear that he cannot afford to run the club on a sustainable basis. #swfc
