The CrowdStrike Outage revealed the limits of airline customer service during the travel meltdown and well after it. For many, there were no vouchers, and now, a byzantine reimbursement process. thttps://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/13/travel/crowdstrike-outage-delta-airlines.html

Eric Adams certainly had an appetite for luxury travel. Per the indicment, he accepted free flights and upgrades on Turkish Airlines and heavily discounted hotel suites, that would've cost more than $120K in total.

Uber's launching shuttles in NYC to take people from Manhattan to LaGuardia • 14-passenger vans • Trips every 30 minutes • $18 to and from the airport • Three pick up/drop off locations (Port Authority, Grand Central, Penn Station) It makes a lot of sense, 15% of bookings

Important comment about aviation safety: When the global air travel system achieves an incredible level of safety through deliberate engineering & organizational safeguards, the remaining accidents are at the edge of the bell curve -- ensuring they will be increasingly bizarre.

Sorry for tweeting so much, but Twitter throttles out-bound links, so I'm trying this again. SoCal animal shelters are overwhelmed with people dropping off injured animals they can't take with them as they flee. Many are in need of volunteers, money, and foster homes 🧵

Our union fully supports this action by the The FAA ✈️. Operations should change, at the very least until we learn more about what led to the deadliest U.S. aviation accident in 24 years. 67 souls were lost not even 48 hours ago — we should not operate as if nothing happened.

The FAA has indefinitely shut down all low-altitude helicopter flights near DCA. The FAA was right to take this action, and I expect these restrictions to be in effect until investigations are complete.

Woah: Southwest Airlines is going to start charging for bags beginning on May 28 🤯 Never thought I’d see this day. Select elites and biz passengers still get 2 free bags. Basic economy and other more punitive changes are also coming soon. The Southwest of yesteryear is dead.

Lap kids: The airline safety issue that has yet to be resolved. Thanks to The New York Times & Christine Chung for sharing my thoughts: "It should be noted that at no time has the FAA actually studied its own theory," said William McGee, senior fellow American Economic Liberties Project. nytimes.com/2025/03/28/tra…
