ROAD CLOSED: High winds has resulted in a tree falling down across Huon Road.  The City of Hobart’s after hours team is working now to remove it. It is expected to be cleared by 8am.

The TasmaniaFireService has declared a total fire ban from 2am, Thursday 22 February, for the southern region of Tasmania. This includes all of Hobart. The fire ban will be in place for two days, until 2am, Saturday 24 February. For more information fire.tas.gov.au

Due to the extreme fire danger rating Hobart bushland parks and reserves will be closed today, Thursday 22 February. Closures include Wellington Park and the Queens Domain summit. We expect to re-open these areas on Friday morning. More info: hobartcity.com.au/Community/Emer…

We're battening down the hatches ahead of the severe weather forecast, expected to develop early Tuesday and possibly continuing throughout the week. 🔒St Davids Park, Princes Park and Waterworks Reserve will all be closed on Tuesday 27 August, until it is safe to re-open them.

Tasmania's Department of Health is advising swimmers to avoid swimming in the River Derwent due to a sewage leak. A sewage treatment plant in the Hobart area has failed resulting in sewage entering the river near Berridale.

The Tasmania Fire Service has declared a state-wide total fire ban from 2am tomorrow (Sunday 23 February 2025) until 2am Monday (24 February 2025). 📷 Anyone who sees a fire in the open is urged to report it promptly to Triple Zero (000).
