The highlight of last night was Billy Bragg curtailing the end of Greetings to the New Brunette to celebrate Lioness’s victory in the Euros with the crowd, before treating us to a full blooded sing along of Jerusalem (our true national anthem).

Can’t pretend I wasn’t a little intimidated by the size of the 15k capacity ⁦OVO Hydro⁩, but the crowd were brilliant- cheering the raucous numbers and listening intently to the quiet songs. In 40 years of gigging in the city, Glasgow audiences have never let me down ❤️👏

A genuine privilege to spend a little quality time with a hero in my hometown, and to compare notes/take valuable advice on stagecraft, wit, anger, vulnerability, society and guitarists with obsessions for old Ford Capris. Pure magic, a master, there is power in a union 👊.
