The most stressed out I've ever been about Christmas was when I was 16 and I got my first ever job, working at M&S in Dundrum. As soon as I started I kept hearing these myths about the Christmas Eve Waste Sale, where all the food that wasn't sold on the 24th was marked down 90%.

This was the poem that really turned on the lights for me when I was about 17. I don’t think it had occurred to me before then that poetry could be formally adroit *and* full of barely controlled anger.

my queen!! Montell is also a goddess, and did better in the dance-off, but Sam is my STAR and I hate this. There are much weaker dancers who’ve gone through to next week. I heavily blame the misdirected generosity towards those dancers! No chill! #Strictly

So, I've just spent a bit of time looking into the debate on IHT and farming. I... got a shock. First, a note: I have a friend who runs a family farm. In his view, the whole thing is a something and nothing. 🧵

Why say nothing? Because you feel, in no particular order, embarrassed, a prude, shocked, waiting for a male colleague to call him out, not wanting to “rock the boat”, thinking it’s better to plough on with the day, assuming you misheard/misunderstood or just don’t get the joke.
