Exciting to hear about IS26 blaCTX-M complex resistance structures and its mobilization in #Microbio24 from Gabriel Trueba

Happy to discuss about the use of CRISPR-Cas9 to combat AMR (blaCTX-M-15 in E. coli ST131). Poster 28. #Microbio24 Microbiology Society

Proudly representing the Uni of Exeter's ESI at #microbio24! It was super fun, thanks to Microbiology Society and all the participants! Emily Goodall Aleksei_Agapov Benoit Pons @davvi36 Clàudia Morros Bernaus Joe Westley

I survived my first conference! #Microbio24 Microbiology Society A great time in Edinburgh with the Uni of Exeter's ESI crew!

The main results of my previous postdoc are published in Nucleic Acids Res. doi.org/10.1093/nar/gk… In short, we found an RNase (named it Agap) that produces guides for an Argonaute protein (AmAgo). Together, Agap and AmAgo protect bacteria against phage. Find out more in the thread. 1/9

🔥🔥 New publication! 🔥🔥 Which environmental substrates have greater #AMR #Pathogen risk? 🦠🧫 We investigate this in our 🆕 publication with Microbiology Society, featuring the experiments from the first year of my Uni of Exeter's ESI and Plymouth Marine Lab PhD ➡️ doi.org/10.1099/mic.0.…

Dr Daniel Padfield (Uni of Exeter's ESI) is our 1st place #EmergingLeadersPrize 2024 winner!🏆 He is exploring the link between global warming & the spread of antibiotic resistance - an urgent threat to human health. We look forward to seeing Dr Padfield’s future work in this field
