Exactly 3 years ago, I caught COVID for the first time. I was not vaccinated, but it was a mild infection, so I was not too worried. Nobody could have told me then, that I would develop Long Covid and MECFS, and lose my life to it.

Today is #LongCovidAwareness Day. As a mom of a 15-year-old with severe ME/CFS type Long COVID, and as both physician parents, we’ve diligently pursued every possible treatment option in this overlooked and uncharted territory, where no approved medication is available.

Thinking of all those affected directly and indirectly by long COVID on #InternationalLongCovidDay Long COVID is poorly understood, with no treatments.  It can be devastating, even to those that have been fully vaccinated, previously in good health, and of any age.
