This report is a secondary analysis of the PANTHER-IPF clinical trial, which found that those with short telomeres who received immunosuppressants had bad outcomes, while the harmful effect was not as strong in those with normal length telomeres. atsjournals.org/doi/abs/10.116…

Great work by Chad Newton Deji Adegunsoye, MD, PhD,etc. Shorter telom length and Muc5B SNP assoc w/ worse outcomes and survival in IPAF (diff from IPF w/Muc5B and survival). Leukocyte telomere length and MUC5B minor allele frequency are similar for IPAF and the combined CTD-ILD group; however, the associations between these genomic markers and clinical outcomes are different for these two types of ILD ow.ly/wXem30njRkg

Our paper is in press in which we examined unique PSG parameters of sleep disturbance with blood pressure in @NHLBI #MESA cohort. We found that hypoxic burden, a novel PSG measure is assoc. with higher BP. Duty cycle assoc. with lower BP. doi.org/10.1136/thorax…

The amazing Dr. Christine Garcia highlighting role of Telomeres in #pulmonaryfibrosis. The PARN variant a Telomere related gene cosegregates among families & familial kindreds have helped provide lots of insight into shorter Telomere Syndromes. #PFFSummit2019 @PFForg #CurePF
