Washington DC’s government has made a conscious decision that a dozen pedestrian deaths each year is an acceptable price to pay to make it slightly easier for drivers to avoid having to park in a garage.

We can chop this in half by reimbursing live kidney donors for all their expenses. This would also save thousands of lives a year, the majority of which would be African American. We choose not to do this because no one gives a shit about Poors dying on dialysis.
