My classroom management improved when I focused more on creativity and collaboration and less on compliance. Instead of trying to catch kids doing things wrong, we celebrated the amazing things they did well, and those “things” got exponentially better because the fear was gone.

It is important in education to understand that technical skills become less of a focus as you rise in Leadership and people focus becomes more important. That's why micromanagers make ineffective leaders.

One of the biggest issues in education… The people that make decisions for what is best for students are NOT teachers. Nor are teachers even asked.

School lunches should be free. And school lunches MUST improve. The food is often tasteless, repetitive, and unhealthy. We have the capacity to fix this but unfortunately lack the will.

The #1 priority of admin should be staff morale. Everything else is secondary. Here's a few tips: * give them a voice * Trust them as professionals * Treat everyone as individuals/ humans * Respect their time * Show them you care personal/professional * celebrate/ appreciate

Had a great day watching the boy do his thing! The pitchers in the last two games we played against threw 109 and 100 pitches. It is never ok to do that to a 12-year-old. Nobody’s arms are in shape. This is abuse by coaches that just want to win cheap three dollar medals…
