UWL Softball sweeps the WIAC Kwik Trip Pitcher and Position Player of the Week. Carmen Follette did not allow a run in two appearances, earning the save vs. St. Scholastica (Minn.). Brooke Howard hit .333 with two doubles, three RBI, two walks and one stolen base in two games.
UWL Softball Kaeley Niemiec and Maddy Bornbach are this week's WIAC Pitcher and Position Players of the Week. Niemiec earned a pair of wins, going 2-0 with a 1.40 ERA. Bornbach hit .750 (nine-for-12) with six runs, five RBI, two walks, one double and one home run in four starts.
UWL Softball Kaeley Niemiec and Amber Gonzalez are the WIAC Athletes of the Week. Niemiec pitched 7.0 scoreless innings vs. #21-ranked UW-Stevens Point. She allowed four hits with four strikeouts. Gonzalez hit .500 (6-for-12) in four starts, recording three multiple-hit games.
