It’s nothing better than getting off the phone with NCAA coaches and they ask you about players who are averaging less than 10 points per game. Coaches don’t care about how many points you can score, they care about how much you can help their team! Remember that young ballers!

Biggest shift in my philosophy over the past 5-6 years: not blaming players. Always asking: “What could I have done differently to put players in a better spot? What can I do to reach them if they aren’t doing what we need them to do?” Accepting full ownership at all times.

There is something to be said for practicing “bad shots” (leaning, off-balance, high arc, line drives, etc.). Not saying do it every rep but certainly incorporate into workouts. Let players explore their movement space and new movement solutions. Allow the body to problem solve!
