@KellyHereid Julien Emile-Geay @profadamsobel Dr. Suzana Camargo Michael Tippett More blue hole records coming soon from coastalgrp_whoi @Ocean_Aggie. Compiling them together might get us a Bahamas/eastern Florida hurricane outlook for the past millennium

So excited to be a part of NU Marine & Enviro Sci’s High School Marine Science Symposium today! Looking forward to leading hands-on workshops about storm surge attenuation!

Nice work Jimmy. Not to mention The Perron Group at MIT coastalgrp_whoi

This paleo tropical cyclone work from Katie Castagno and coastalgrp_whoi first inspired my interest in coastal geology. Jennifer Connell and I made a poster for our sedimentology class project highlighting work related to this. Exciting to now be able to tweet about the latest advances!

Photos from our recent coring trip to the #OuterBanks in NC! Too bad we brought the New England weather with "record snowfall" while we were there! UNCW Sea Level Lab Northeastern U. #Coop Have questions about who we are, what we do, or what coring is like? Feel free to tweet us or DM us!

Novel tool, developed by James Bramante, a recent graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) - Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) Joint Program in Oceanography (MIT Alumni), sheds light on coral reef erosion. His "UTube" wave abrasion simulator could aid coastal planning in low-lying Marshall Islands. bit.ly/2AuBtiH

A study of paleohurricane records preserved in sediments in the Bahamas highlights how broad data compilations tease out climate's role in long-term hurricane activity patterns. Research from Dr. Lizzie Wallace Sloan Coats coastalgrp_whoi, story by Aaron Sidder eos.org/research-spotl…

The paper based on my PhD generals project coastalgrp_whoi is finally out! Here, we explore how grain-size trends in storm-induced overwash deposits can reveal larger changes in hydrodynamic or geomorphic regimes. doi.org/10.2112/JCOAST…

My last thesis chapter is published at last! We present a blue hole sediment record that documents hurricanes striking the Turks & Caicos Islands over the past 1500 years including Irma in 2017. coastalgrp_whoi #paleotempestology authors.elsevier.com/a/1dZ-y-4PR%7E…

We're hiring! Come join our team Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) as the new Seafloor Samples curator. careers-whoi.icims.com/jobs/1657/rese…
