What do these trees (chestnut and willow) have in common? Both were about 5-6 feet tall, both lost their fencing during hurricane Helene, both then got their bark girdled by opportunistic deer about 1’ from the ground, both died back, and both are now making a vigorous comeback

At this point I’m partial to a barbell strategy, AI tutoring (and similar things) strongly counterbalanced by extensive physicality and sociality - getting the kids in the woods, planting things, building things with their hands, working in teams, etc.
