Science should be by and for everyone. In partnership with National Academies, we’re excited to welcome 25 Science Diversity Leadership grantees who are diversifying biomedicine through research + mentorship 🙌🏽🙌🏿🙌🏾

Excited to share the single-cell adult #macaque brain atlas—our contribution to a big week of #brainatlas preprints! W/ Xingfan Fanny Huang, Michael Platt, Jay Shendure, & Noah Snyder-Mackler—we profiled 4.2M nuclei across 30 regions from females+males. Here’s what we found bit.ly/3CL0zpQ

We're recruiting a new faculty member Fred Hutch Cancer Center! We're looking for researchers who use data and data science in new and creative ways. All research areas are welcome, from ML/AI to cancer genomics to tech dev to other topics. apply.interfolio.com/115753

Excited to share our preprint biorxiv.org/content/10.110… (my first)! This was an amazing collaboration with the incredibly talented and rare gem Jean-Benoît (JB) Lalanne. Also indebted to a rockstar team Silvia Domcke Diego Calderon (diegoisworking@bluesky) @bethkarenmartin Tony Li Chase Suiter Cole Trapnell! 🧵(1/10)

Excited to share our lab's latest preprint, led by Chengxiang Qiu, @bethkarenmartin & Ian Welsh of The Jackson Laboratory. We set out to build a single cell roadmap for all of mouse prenatal development, from single cell zygote to free-living pup. Preprint: tinyurl.com/2nhe4mm9 1/n

Excited to share our pre-print, spearheaded by Doron Haviv (who did a phenomenal job, great fun to have grad students come up with the best ideas) providing a way to integrate scRNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics that fully utilizes spatial context biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

1/9 CPAis finally published. It can predict single-cell responses to combinatorial perturbation (drugs, CRISPR). This is a joint collab between @meta and Fabian Theis Helmholtz Munich | @HelmholtzMunich. Read the thread to understand the LEGO analogy! embopress.org/doi/full/10.15…

Today with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Initiative and UW Medicine, we’re launching the Seattle Hub for Synthetic Biology (#SeaSynBio), a first-of-its-kind research initiative that will reimagine how we study cells by turning them into their own recording devices. alleninstitute.org/news/seattle-h…

We’re looking for a postdoc shared with Oliver Stegle. Join us: design ambitious multi-sample single-cell experiments in developing embryos, model temporal response patterns, test predictions. Open to different backgrounds and expertise. If you’re interested, get in touch soon!

sci-Plex-GxE is out Cell Genomics! Combined single-cell genetic and chemical screens at scale. In this proof-of-concept, we performed sci-Plex-GxE on ~1M perturbed cells to define the contribution of protein kinases to the regulation of transcriptional changes induced by therapy.

Excited to share our human RA-gastruloid model in Nature Cell Biology! Early retinoic acid supplementation, followed by later Matrigel addition, robustly induces human embryonic morphologies and diverse cell lineages, including somitic, renal, cardiac, and neural cell types in
