RE: Shortening F1 races.........."No one is talking about having 60 minute football matches or something like that... "It's a problem with society and the kids but not the sport, so probably it's not needed."

Normal logic that is clearly not with the minds of sports administrators to work out. Putting any sport behind paywalls always was and always will be bad long term.

"Sportscar magic is gone." "Tesla killed the sportscar". In other news, petrol engined sports car, the Porsche 911 has gone up 44% in sales since 2019. People clearly don't know how to use the Internet properly.

Nonsense. It’s because they are drawing live inventory with dynamic prices (if they are doing it properly). At OpenJaw Tech, we drew live inventory from airline, car & hotels to create a package (3 different prices) in 2 seconds. It was a miracle of technology.

Monza (just outside Milan) is the Formula One race this week. They call it the 'Temple of Speed' as the driver is on full throttle 80% of the time. 52 drivers & riders have lost their lives there. I have only been there once, and it was incredible.

Saw this come up as the 'hiring process' for a marketing role on LI. -> 1st Stage: if application is selected our recruitment team will reach out within 2 wks for introductory call -> 2nd Stage: Interview with HR Biz Prtner If you are in marketing, never allow this to happen

If you are a senior marketer who is not willing to look at all the CVs and you outsource CV assessment and 'introductory' call, you are not a serious person. And, if you tell me that you don't have time, then you are a charlatan.

Promo for me. I am doing keynotes in these six countries over the next 12 weeks. Two new ones to be added in LATAM shortly. Its like the Oasis tours, minus the fraternal infighting.

I am of the opinion that 99% of (potential) growth opportunities are killed by finance teams demanding to see ROI, IRR and cost reduction on ideas that cannot really be assessed properly as they are innovation.

'X' is impossible is something I heard a lot in my careers. I wish I had had this quote ready when I heard it :-) "nothing that is allowed by the laws of physics is beyond the scope of human creativity.”

Apropos my last tweet about CFOs and finance folks causing more damage due to obsession with ROI and, in this case, margin erosion, due to their regular inability to understand the idea of increased volume. This case: Intel (written in a bizarre fashion but still!)

Back in the day, we hired a bunch of Oracle sales guys. Lesson 1: never stand between those guys and a bag of money. Listening to how they tried to close deals was like Alec Baldin in Glengarry Glen Ross.
