Surely there are too many jobs and livelihoods in Tourism for our Government to stand by and let what's happening happen! Restaurant and Food led businesses especially vulnerable and we see such businesses closing throughout the country right now!

I feel like a lot of the time this fine county is taken for granted by the people who call it home. Where would ya get it!? 💜💛 #Wexford

After meeting group of restaurant owners this morning. All very successful in their own right. Same message across the board. Government imposed costs including Vat increase is wiping margin away. No margin makes the business vulnerable financially.

There just doesn’t seem to be any end to the ever spiralling costs! The public can only bear so much price increases to cover these costs and businesses are under threat all over the place! Especially anyone depending on Food sales! Govt has to do something to stop the rot!! 🙏

How many more has to go to the wall before Government realise the damage that’s been done to one of our strongest indigenous professions?? I note in the Business Post this morning, 200 closures in first quarter alone!! 🤷‍♂️

Tourist numbers substantially down on 2023 across the country. Businesses reporting tourist numbers down between 10% and 20% down. Surely Government must acknowledge the difficulty industry is facing with increased costs and less tourists. Reduce Vat to 9% to save businesses.
