True story about Matalan - my 17 year old son was part time and had an 8 hour contract. He was told that because it was Xmas nobody could take time off but we were going away to his grandmas as she had just lost her husband - his grandad 1/2

So @matalan said he had to take the work. He said he couldn’t stay home over Xmas on his own whilst his family went away & they said he’d have to. He said he’d have to leave then and they agreed. So they had nobody working over Xmas anyway. Or after. Crazy.
