If three doses = fully vaccinated. Then Two doses in developing countries = not fully vaccinated. If your boosters advocacy ends at your borders then you should reevaluate your activism.

Yes, with the Omicron variant, it’s an absolute necessity to get your 3rd dose. Please go & get one. But also remember that new variants like Omicron happen because vaccines are not free & accessible for most people in the world. If we vaccinate the world, we will all be safer.

So many people have no choice but COVID risk - these are society's most vulnerable (including under 5s as well as immunocompromised and impoverished). Hearing those with means that they're "tired" of it & they're going to take their chances? It's at that first group's expense.

Please let's not only remember those experiencing homelessness during frigid temperatures like today's, let's remember them every day and actually ACT towards ending homelessness. Pity is not policy, neither is philanthropy.

Much talk about moving from "pandemic" to "endemic." It is not surprising that the language and discussion are awkward, given we haven't done this in 100 years or so. Here are the definitions from Last's Dictionary of Epidemiology - the worldwide standard for our field.

Let’s all try to avoid using adjectives related to mental illness (e.g. mad, psychotic, crazy, insane) to describe a certain warmongering dictator. Language matters. #stigma

Monkeypox is not a “sexually transmitted infection”. It’s transmitted via close contact, of which sex is only one type. Yes, it is primarily affecting men who have sex with men right now, but men who have sex with men also have friends and family and neighbors and children.

I had the privilege of working with Jamie for over a decade. He was one of the kindest and most compassionate people I have ever met. I'm so happy to know he had such an impact and that his legacy lives on.
