Iranian writer & director, Jafar Panahi, won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival. He spent yrs in prison for daring to make movies & speak up for free expression. He gave a beautiful speech about his hopes for freedom & the fight against tyrany & repression.

Tried my best to get some writing done today but feeling down/blahhh. I’m sure it will pass, but for now giving myself permission to crawl back into bed, pull the covers over my head & take a few hours to wallow. #writinglife
