In the Innovation Team @ RJI Challenge, Griffiths Innovators Allison Mawn and McKenna Edwards fought news avoidance with technology. They developed a homescreen widget to sort headlines, prioritizing trusted news sources versus social apps. They placed in the top 10 national finalists.


At the Spring 2025 Hackathon, researcher Brittany Shivers shared her work on psychological reactance and source credibility in digital spaces. Students engaged in a TikTok misinformation study, seeing how different interventions affect audience trust, skepticism and emotional responses.
