Calton Primary School has just been awarded the Gold Primary Science Quality Mark. We are all really proud of our achievement.

Year 4 made their own 3D model of the digestive system today. Food was mashed up to go in the mouth and 'poo' came out the end. Great fun!

Chicks hatched in Year 2 yesterday. All are doing well. I think the teachers are even more excited than the children about the new arrivals!

Fantastic fun last week when some year 4 children went to playgroup to teach them about circuits.

Brilliant digestion experiment last week using tights, rubber gloves, funnel and balloon for the organs. Got a bit messy though!

Year 5 have started their first unit of the year with an elicitation of what they know and what they want to find out about materials.

Year 3 have been linking Science to the book 'The Wind in The Willows' as they are studying this in English.

The school is signed up to Mission X (trainlikeanastronaut.org) Very excited! Perhaps the next British astronaut is in the school!
