Recorder is one of my favorite documentaries. Philly media activist Mattie Humphrey appeared on local talk programs produced by M. Stokes. Humphrey was a critical link who connected Philly’s public access TV movement to the Black Freedom Struggle

After watching, this was the backstory I wanted to see. I anticipated the Choctaw would reappear near the end to make their presence and power more known. But I guess that would have complicated, perhaps contradicted, the historical metaphor at play.
