🧵 While Gaza is being destroyed, Israel’s parliament is quietly passing apartheid laws against Palestinians inside Israel and across occupied Palestine. Here’s what they just did:

1. A bill that passed its first reading would ban Palestinians from running in local elections if they reject Israel as a “Jewish and democratic state” — or support what Israel labels “terrorism” (which can mean any form of resistance). 20% of Israel’s population is Palestinian.

2. Another bill, also through its first reading, would ban anyone with a degree from a Palestinian university from teaching. Yes — a Palestinian from Jenin with a degree from Birzeit could be legally barred from teaching.

3. A new law that already passed strips national insurance benefits from anyone labeled a “security criminal” — a term disproportionately used against Palestinians, including minors accused of stone-throwing. Settlers attacking Palestinians? Almost never punished.

4. Another bill, still in early stages, would legally rename the occupied West Bank as “Judea and Samaria” in all Israeli parliamentary texts — erasing Palestinian identity and codifying the language of occupation and colonization.

5. These aren’t just isolated bills. They’re part of a larger system: Apartheid. Ethnic cleansing. Control through law. From Gaza to the West Bank to inside Israel to the U.S. — Palestinians are being targeted at every level.

‘Every morning, when I awake, my chest tightens, and tears well up, I get a grip and gird my loins for the fray: What can I do today? Why do I prepare for battle every day? Because every day we are fighting the existential battle for the soul of the human race. If we live in the

Israel uses mass incarceration to suppress Palestinian resistance to apartheid. Since 1967, it has detained over 1 million Palestinians — 1 in 5 of all Palestinians from Gaza & the West Bank. Today, 9,500+ remain imprisoned, including at least 350 children aljazeera.com/news/2023/10/8…

The question is not whether this is a genocide or not. The question is why is it being denied ? A genocide normalized is now a genocide denied
