Recent bioRxiv manuscript from Shane JF Cronin PenningerLab & colleagues highlights the importance of the multi-faceted roles that the GCH1/BH4 metabolic pathway play in maintaining dopamine neurons & a potential therapeutic target for #Parkinsons; biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

As life expectancy increases, understanding the complexities of aging becomes ever more crucial. PenningerLab, Domagoj Cikes, and others, discuss the role of lipid pathways in aging and the synchronization of cells. nature.com/articles/s4358…

Congratulations Shweta Tikoo for being awarded Researcher of the Month by the Medical University of Vienna. meduniwien.ac.at/web/forschung/… youtube.com/watch?v=1nj6tp…

📌 Researchers have made progress in understanding the mechanisms that influence pain sensation after surgery! ↪️ The findings of a group led by #MedUniVienna & IMBA imbavienna.bsky.social reveal a new possibility for localised and targeted therapy. ➡ bit.ly/3YQbVWj Science Immunology

Stoked to share the most recent paper from the lab, starring #MastCells, the probably most interesting #ImmuneCells around..at least for some people in the group (Philipp Starkl). FANTASTIC collaboration with Shane JF Cronin PenningerLab science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

New research from Shane JF Cronin and Josef Penninger at the PenningerLab and Philipp Starkl at MedUni Wien shows that reducing production of the neuropathic pain mediator molecule BH4 could effectively treat chronic postoperative pain. More info: bit.ly/3T0238D

Turn down the pain, turn up the gain: Our new paper on peripheral pain targets is out Genetics Society of America. Work by Zina Hamoudi and others Charles Perkins Centre Sydney Science doi.org/10.1093/g3jour… We tested 100s of potential targets and identified 23 new pain genes. Please RT
