A1) I think student agency is empowering kids to take ownership of their learning by fostering curiosity, choice, and having their voice heard in the classroom. It’s about helping them set goals, make decisions, and grow into confident, independent thinkers. #VAESPCHAT

A2) We should be talking about student agency because it prepares students for lifelong success. When we shift to student-centered learning, we value their strengths, needs, and interests. It builds critical thinkers and problem-solvers for the present and future! #VAESPCHAT

A3) To shift power in student-centered classrooms, teachers must see themselves as facilitators. Continuous PD, collaborative spaces, and modeling agency supports. Start small with student choice and grow from there. In other words, empowered teachers empower students! #VAESPCHAT

A4) Student agency can be seen as students leading conferences, setting goals, creating projects, solving real-world problems, and reflecting on their growth. This is not just a “choice board”. It’s about ownership, voice, and purpose in THEIR learning journey #VAESPCHAT
