Excited to release our latest work, led by Alejandro Martínez Calvo along with Ned Wingreen: doi.org/10.1101/2023.0…! Here, we study how interactions with phages—viruses that infect bacteria—influence the spatial organization of a bacterial population. 🦠⚡️☠️ Tweetorial follows... [1/8]

So pleased to announce that the first chunk of my graduate work is out now in Developmental Cell 🫁🐭🔬 here we investigated the role of the planar cell polarity complex in lung sacculation, identifying a PCP-independent role for Vangl in the pulmonary mesenchyme authors.elsevier.com/c/1isRC5Sx5gxk…

In this Developmental Cell study, Drs. Sarah Paramore, PhD, Carolina Trenado, Tissue Morphodynamics Group, Danelle Devenport, & team show that Vangl1/2 is required in the lung mesenchyme for sacculation. 💬 More here: bit.ly/43OirgB

📢Excited to share our latest work Nature Communications: doi.org/10.1038/s41467…. Here, we show that minimal elastohydrodynamic networks can exhibit rich, emergent collective phenomena, such as memory effects! We term this element a 'fluidic memristor' (tweetorial below).

Getting to be a part of the Physiology course as a faculty instructor (along with the amazing Alejandro Martínez Calvo Carolina Trenado Sebastian Gonzalez La Corte as TAs) was a real treat! It was intense, exciting, and inspiring. Thank you to brangwynnelab and Gladfelter Lab for your amazing leadership.

Last but not least, Carolina Trenado and Maryam Kohram will share their latest breakthroughs in predicting cancer cell behavior #BMES2024. Hope to see you there!

This is (some of) us at #BMES2024. A mathematician, several physicists, chemical engineers, mechanical engineers, bioengineers, biologists, and a music major! Embracing multidisciplinary research. ❤️🫁🐭🐓🦎🦀 Princeton Engineering Biomedical Engineering Society

Unexpectedly running into Carolina Trenado Alejandro Martínez Calvo yet again, great catching up! Hongbo Zhao

Excited to release our latest work, led by Alejandro Martínez Calvo: arxiv.org/abs/2411.14636! Here, we characterize the rich dynamics of surface-attached "active drops", and develop principles to predict & control their shape and motion (morphodynamics). 💧🦠 Tweetorial follows... [1/6]
