I have been unable to transfer this account to my new phone. I do not have the knowhow to remember emails and passwords from over 10 years ago. Therefore this will be my last post. Thank you to all my followers over the years, it has been fun, still on as Brian Ward Brian Ward

My clever daughter spent an hour last night deleting my new account, with 1 follower, and recovering my old account for Cumbriabirds. I don't care what people say, kids have their uses.

Overdue patch tick in the form of a Cetti’s warbler at Borrans Park along the boardwalk west of the marsh. Still a rare bird in the Lake District! Also two wigeon on the river Rothay was my second patch record and the first on the deck! Full list here - ebird.org/checklist/S202…

WEBS today after overnight frost and small flock of Wigeon, a Gadwall, Goldeneye and Goosander all on longlands lake. Also a Dipper on the river, a first for this year after losing the long time breeding pair a couple of years ago.

WEBS today at longlands, had a Gadwall and a Wigeon left from the storm. Wondered why all the ducks were at the far end and then I saw an otter patrolling the far bank cumbriabirds

Anybody travelling along the A595 near the wind farm at the Stainburn, Workington turn off. Keep your eyes open for a large raptor over the woods. My son saw an Eagle sized bird on his way home from work last night.

WEBS at longlands this morning, Kingfisher on the river was the first outside of winter. Lake very quiet with no cygnets and only 5 ducklings. Also heard sedge warbler and redstart #webs

06.30. Crag Bank, Sleddale, in field next to cattle grid. Audio of singing male Quail this morning, turn volume up high, and you can just hear it, against the gusting winds. NorthYorksBirdNews teesbirds
