This is terrible. 😖 It reminds me Julie Cruikshank book “Do Glaciers Listen? Local Knowledge, Colonial Encounters, and Social Imagination” 🏔️ #Glaciers can be vengeful, violent. How many Alpine villages will disappear because of the rage of glaciers?

I love academic writing retreats. But what about a #marking retreat? Academics meeting in an fantastic space and engage in deep and intense marking of all their student essays.

This beauty is one of the most common European #orchids , a Dactylorhiza fuchsii, also known as common spotted orchid. It is my first European hardy orchid and I’m looking forward to understand its live cicle.

One of my best friends always forgets my birthday. As a coincidence, on my birthday she went to renew her passport. I hope she doesn’t forget my birthday in the following 10 years, or at least every time she travels.

Beautiful and stinky #orchid. This #Masdevallia colossus has a big flower with a terrible smell, similar to rotten meat, ideal to attract flies as pollinators. We were growing in our bedroom windowsill but we had to move it to the kitchen because of the “lovely” fragrance.

The academic job market is very competitive… but when you receive a rejection just two days after the application deadline, that makes me think if they even read my application.

A question for academics, who's banned devices (laptops and phones) from their lectures? And what have the results been? Noticeable or negligible improvement in engagement?
