One of the few images I've seen showing the original custom house dock directly beside the Custom House, the original sole custom house harbour, it was filled-in sometime around 1940 and later memorial road was built on top of it

Bringing Ireland's Past to Life 🇮🇪🔥 My restored and coloured early 1920s photo shows James Gandon's Custom House in ruins, its cupola/dome collapsed after being burned during the War of Independence on May 25, 1921. The rebuilding of the Custom House began in 1925 under OPW
