Sequencing our #genomes could contribute to great scientific and medical advances , but this has to be done under regulation and ethical awareness

Hello world! I have literally not tweeted in c. 30,000 years! I have been frozen in permafrost since the last Ice Age, and was just found at 7 meter's depth, 200 meters inside an ice tunnel in Siberia. Not sure what species I am. Any ideas, Twitter?

It will take 3 to 7 million years for mammals to recover the evolutionary diversity that humans have destroyed. That’s more than 10x longer than our species has existed for. Grim estimates from a new study: theatlantic.com/science/archiv…

Last night American Museum of Natural History, in collaboration with the state of Oaxaca, hosted a wonderful event celebrating the Mexican holiday of Día de Muertos or Day of the Dead. Included were traditional altars or ofrendas built to honor extinct species like the Oʻahu ʻakialoa shown here.

Come join my group in Stockholm. Fully funded employment as PhD student for 4 years, working with a fantastic gang of people (and dead critters) at #CpgSthlm. One day to deadline!

If you were thinking on sequencing your genome, why not own the data, protect it through the #blockchain, choose who you sell it to, and get revenue for it x.com/statnews/statu…

THE CELL’S POWERHOUSE Mitochondria (yellow) make much of the chemical energy that fuels the life of a cells. They also move rapidly as seen in this cancer cell compared to the relatively slow moving nucleus (blue) and cellular adhesions (purple). #MitoMonday #CellBiology

We are giving a 10-week MSc course focused on ancient DNA and the prehistory of humans as well as wild critters. Starts after the summer (deadline 16/4, no tuition fee for EU citizens). Also, PhD students will be able to attend parts of the course. ancientdnablog.wordpress.com/2018/04/13/pal…
