Brilliant paper unpicking loneliness&causal relationships to adverse health outcomes. -non-causal associations between loneliness&most health outcomes-need to target other lifestyle risk factors -Not the case for depression/substance abuse where intervention may prevent illness

Vital study I've worked on the last 3 years, demonstrating the value of longitudinal research where we see increases in PTSD rates in UK serving/ex-serving personnel associated with combat role in Iraq/Afghan in Phase4 that wasn't apparent when we were in active combat operations.

It's funny how it's a universal experience in academia that reviewer 1 is so full of praise you feel a moment of serenity that it's all worth it. And #reviewer2 says your paper made them contemplate their continued existence on this planet. #AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter

A recent meta analysis shows that #Military personnel have poor #sleep quality - whether active or #Veteran. Physical and mental health are at play-so how will those #Injured fair? The ADVANCE Study is submitting our first sleep paper later this year. doi.org/10.1016/j.smrv…

#positive #Psychology is in its third wave as a serious science: identifying a need to embrace greater complexity to understand the person through the groups and systems they interact with. I'd love to see how positive psych links to physical #Health too! Doi.org/10.1080/174397…

Workers with [compared to without] poor #mentalhealth are less likely to perform well, more likely to be absent & more likely to leave their job. Strongest evidence for prevention is having supportive teams i.e. good relationships with colleagues & managers. March on Stress
