Which students do private-school vouchers help the most? Students who were already enrolled in private schools without a taxpayer-funded voucher. #txlege #txed

We keep seeing people talking about "bloated administrative overhead" in public schools. But why do those schools need so many administrators? Compliance. Compliance with the regulations that have been imposed on them for decades by politicians like Greg Abbott

We are having a special session to promote vouchers that will affect 1.1% of the student population, less if you include private school kids. We are ignoring the 99% of students. This should be enough to tell you this is a bad policy. This isn’t choice, this is a scam.

So vouchers have: No financial accountability, no parent rights protections, no parent choice, no protections for students with disabilities, no testing requirements or curriculum oversight? Tell me again how this is improving failing schools and empowering parents? It doesn’t..

#txlege LBB reported school funding, adjusted for population/inflation, actually decreased in recent yrs. State’s share of ISD cost approx $3800/pupil. $8000 voucher = 2X amt/pupil. Creates Robin Hood 2.0, only this time in reverse–takes money from the poor to give to the rich.

Vouchers were 1st proposed in TX in 1956 to stop school integration after the Brown decision. Today, voucher advocates REMAIN COMMITTED TO PUBLICLY-FUNDED DISCRIMINATION. Listen to the shameful response of the voucher bill author to a proposal to add text to prohibit

Not even bothering to hide that he’s holding public school funding and pay for educators hostage in exchange for his private school tuition coupon.

As a reminder to public, the the Texas Senate voted to increase big government by hiring five EAO’s to run vouchers. Think about that. The majority R Senate, who claim to be about smaller government is reallocating up to $40 million of the $500 million for admin cost. Wow. Year 1

You don’t have the votes in the House and you know it. No vouchers in Texas! Fully fund Texas public schools. Give teachers a raise. Fix TRS. Provide a COLA. Man up and be somebody. Do your actual job rather than pandering for your big $ donors.

Let’s get this straight…the poor kid in a failing school will still not get helped with vouchers. Private schools will provide no transportation or a free meal for those kids. Private schools won’t take those kids they’ll go after the athletes and top 10%. How does this help?

No sir! Please quit mixing narratives. This isn't about parent choice; this is about a private school's choice to choose which children they wish to serve based on: race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, academic ability, special needs, behavioral issues, etc. Texas has a

Greg Abbott Texas Public Policy Foundation Stop branding vouchers as a “God given right”. Only you and corrupt politicians want this. Most parents in our district do NOT want vouchers. I already CHOOSE to send 2 of my 3 kids to private school. That’s MY choice- I don’t want tax paper $ taken away from public schools🙅🏻‍♀️
