We are thinking of planning a 'festival within a festival' at a biggish UK music festival next summer. Some family friendly stuff, some #BrewEd style talks and discussions, creative workshops and so on. Interested? Could you fill out this two minute form? forms.gle/ivcKG5ZLxuxSq9…

So it appears that the Tories are converts to setting a floor standard for teacher pay. During their 14 years in office teacher pay declined by 12%. Work load and work intensity went through the roof creating a teacher supply crisis the biggest threat to quality education.

The question is no longer abstract—no longer ā€œIs Trump a fascist?ā€ The question is: How do we stop fascism before the bodies pile too high to count, before the destruction becomes too vast to fathom, before the violence leaves no room for resistance?

Have been covering this for years. But my jaw drops afresh to see details of the pay and pensions package of Sir Dan Moynihan as CEO of the Harris Federation topping Ā£600k in 2023-24. (His pay alone was revealed on Friday to be Ā£515-Ā£520k.) harrisfederation.org.uk/39/policies-do…

An effective way of derailing OFSTED is for no serving or retired school leaders to choose to inspect. Don’t pretend you can make applying an OFSTED framework better, by being ā€˜nice’, and don’t do it to gain insider knowledge. If you think it’s wrong, don’t collaborate in it.

Anyone surprised that Britain's most attention seeking headteacher would use a meeting with the Secretary of State as an excuse for rude, offensive ranting designed to push herself into public view, hasn't been paying attention.

I’m looking for an organisation to partner with on a project on masculinity. I know what we want to achieve but need specialist input. Let me be clear there’s no money involved but we may just improve the world a bit and create something that can help other schools too. DMs open.

Do you remember that moment of hope and power after lockdown when we considered how we would change what we were going to do and how we were going to do it? Why did we let that moment slip? Is it too late to learn the lessons? Remembering David Price youtu.be/bLPtv9bXQ_k?fe…

ā€˜Society, children and young people, and teachers would benefit from a turn towards a more compassionate, compelling and irresistible profession.’ Absolutely, this.

It’s a tragedy the #Drama has been allowed to wither on the vine in state schools. A private school I visited had THREE theatres. And now we have an #oracy deficiency. Go figure! theguardian.com/stage/2025/apr…

Wow: Harris Federation, England's 2nd-largest academy chain "trying to make 45 teachers redundant despite reserves of £21m" and highest-paid CEO on more than £500k, NASUWT says in press release. Got wind of a little of this last week.
